About Chehalis CONTRA DAnCE CAmp
Our mission is to create a friendly dance camp that's fun for
all.
Come immerse yourself in music, dance, workshops and music jams in a
natural setting. Our
unique
contra-focused camp will be located at Camp Elphinstone,
Gibsons, B.C.
Your accommodation and meals are all included; no need to worry
about a thing! Just come dance, listen to great music, attend a few
workshops, visit with friends, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Accommodations
All accommodations have bunk beds with comfortable foam mattresses,
heat, light and electricity. Guests provide their own sleeping
bag/bedding and towels.
To ensure a bed bug free facility, all bedding and luggage (with some exceptions) must be processed through the camp's heat room. Due to this rule, it is highly suggested that campers arrive before dinner on Friday evening. For more information, see our “Heat Room Preparation” and “What to Pack” letters that are provided to you once you sign up.
Lodges
Most of our campers will be accommodated in the lodges, which boast a cozy seating area with fireplace, eight bedrooms with two bunk beds in each room (sleeps four) with lockers, four private washrooms with showers, including accessible washrooms and showers, with a total capacity of 32 guests per lodge.

Meals
A variety of healthy food options will be provided. If you have special dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, lactose or gluten intolerance, food allergies) please indicate those on your registration form. Travel to Camp Elphinestone requires a ferry ride to and from Horseshoe Bay. If you are driving, it is highly recommended to make a reservation on the ferry of your choice (https://www.bcferries.com/routes-fares/schedules). Sometimes discounts are available if you book in advance.
Transit: Transit is available from Tsawwassan Ferry terminal to downtown Vancouver, then transfer to the Horseshoe Bay direct bus. Get off the bus and walk on to the ferry bound for Langdale. We will provide shuttle buses for walk-on passengers on two of the afternoon sailings. Look for the Camp Elphinstone shuttle bus in the Langdale parking lot, or walk 2 km to camp. More information will be posted closer to the camp date.
Ensure your luggage is heat room ready before departing from Horseshoe Bay ferry. Please separate out your fabric items from non fabric items.
If you need or can provide a ride to camp, please indicate this on the registration form. In August our registrar will send you a link to the online camp roster, which indicates those offering rides, and is updated regularly.
